LA WebFest

March 13, 2024

Experiment 31E has been selected for our second web fest of 2024! LA WebFest will take place May 2nd-3rd this year. From what I can tell, there is does not appear to be a virtual option for this festival, which is unfortunate. Also, they do not screen full episodes, only short trailers. We will not be able to attend in person (we just don’t have the means to go to these festivals ourselves at this time), but hopefully those who do go will enjoy watching our trailer!

Cusco WebFest

February 8, 2024

Experiment 31E has been selected for another web fest—our first for 2024! We’ve been selected to be part of the Cusco WebFest, which runs from February 29th to March 2nd. The festival is in Peru, so we unfortunately can’t attend in person, but we will let you know about potential virtual options when we learn more.

Updates on November Web Fests and Another Nomination

November 1, 2023

Experiment 31E has been nominated for Best Sci-fi/Horror/Fantasy/Thriller/Mystery Podcast at the Baltimore Next Media Web Festival! This is a pretty large category, with many podcasts nominated, and according to the BNM Web Fest website, there will be multiple awards for this category.

So that means we’ve been nominated for two awards, one for each festival we were selected for. Huzzah!

Speaking of those festivals, it’s November, and this is the month when both the Baltimore and NZ Web Fests will be taking place. The Baltimore Next Media Web Festival begins tomorrow on November 2nd. In-person events run through November 5th while online screenings continue through the 10th. You can watch/listen to all the selections, including Experiment 31E, online here—you’ll have to register, but it’s free. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 4th, at 8pm.

The NZ Web Fest overlaps a bit with the Baltimore fest, running from November 5th through November 13th. You can register to screen their selections online here (once again, registration is free). The awards ceremony for NZ will take place on Sunday, November 12th, at 8am New Zealand Time, (which means for people like me who live on the east coast of the United States, the ceremony will be taking place in the afternoon on Saturday). It will be livestreamed on their Facebook page, and winners will be listed online afterwards. They will also be live posting to their Instagram during the ceremony.

We’ll be sending out our monthly news update for November after both festivals have finished to let you know if we won any awards and what we thought about being part of our first web festivals. See you then!

Experiment 31E was selected to be a part of another web festival this year—the NZ Web Fest in New Zealand! This festival will also be taking place in November, like the BNM Web Fest, and we will be attending this festival virtually as well (no in-person festivals this year—we are far too broke for that). More details soon!

Experiment 31E in the News

April 21, 2023

Experiment 31E was featured this week in two fiction podcast newsletters!

First, The Fiction Podcast Weekly, a great resource for the latest news and opportunities for fiction podcasters, included the season one finale under Milestones, Debuts, and Finales in their latest issue (#202). Yay!

Second, The End is a newsletter that promotes fiction podcasts that have either finished a season or the entire series. They gave us a shout-out in their newest issue (#33). Double yay!

Episode 12 Released!

April 17, 2023

Episode 12 is finally out! “Attempt Number Nine,” the season one finale, is available now!

This season has been an amazing journey, and we hope to be able to continue it with more seasons. It takes a lot of time and effort to make each episode, though, so it may be some time before season two is ready. If you liked season one, please share it. The more people who listen, the more likely we can eventually open a Patreon to help support the podcast and get the episodes to you sooner.

If you want to stay up to date on future seasons and other developments, please subscribe to our new newsletter at https://experiment31e.substack.com (you can also subscribe through the link at the bottom of this page). There might be some behind-the-scenes stuff included in future issues too!

Thank you so much to everyone who has listened to season one. We’ll be back with another chapter in the Scientist’s story. Until then, memento vivere.
